Bike Week permit deadline nearing

LACONIA — With the 2003 event drawing nearer, the final deadline for submitting Bike Week site plan applications is Monday.

The last meeting of the Motorcycle Technical Review Committee takes place on May 1, but the filing deadline for that meeting is the end of business on Monday.

Completed applications, plans and fees must be received by the Laconia Panning Department, 45 Beacon Street East, by that time or they will not be processed.

Any property owner in Laconia who is considering any temporary use of their property during Bike Week 2003, which takes place June 7-15, should call the Planning Department at 527-1264 to find out if temporary site plan approval is required.

The MTRC reviews and approves the site plan applications and its approval is required before any vendor can be considered for a municipal vending license for Bike Week.

All MTRC meetings are scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. in Room 200A at City Hall.

John Koziol can be reached by calling 524-3800 ext. 5940 or by e-mail at jkoziol@citizen.com
